Ayurvedic Massage

The primary purpose of Ayurvedic Massage is to increase circulation, move lymph, remove toxins and relieve tension within the gross and subtle bodies, thereby helping to balance the 3 Doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), and thereby calm the nervous system.   A constitutional analysis prior to the session is done to ensure the appropriate oils are chosen for you.

Warmed oil appropriate for your Dosha is poured on your body, followed by gentle strokes.  The strokes are done with gentle pressure and marma points (similar to acupressure points) are applied to assist the body to release it's toxins and tensions.   Essential oils and floral waters are also used to help balance the subtle bodies.

It is important to allow yourself time to go home and just relax for several hours after receiving an Ayurvedic massage to gain optimum results.
